Our Process

A clear path from backyard idea to permitted ADU build.

Vancouver ADU keeps the process organized from the first quote request through feasibility, design coordination, county review, scheduling, construction, inspections, and final handoff. The process begins when you share your project details through the Get a Quote form. This gives the team a starting point for your property, goals, timeline, and ADU use.

  • Property address
  • Preferred ADU size or use
  • Budget and timing goals
02 Follow-Up

Logan Contacts You

Logan, a sales representative with Hammer Falls Construction, follows up to understand the project, answer early questions, and coordinate the next step.

  • Project fit conversation
  • General scope review
  • Next-step scheduling
03 Site Visit

Lot Inspection

A permitting specialist is scheduled to review the lot. The visit helps determine where an ADU may fit and what constraints may affect the design.

  • Setbacks and access
  • Utility considerations
  • Buildable area and placement
04 Design Direction

Confirm Size & Location

Once the preferred location and approximate dimensions are understood, Hammer Falls Construction can help you compare design paths before blueprints begin.

  • Detached or attached approach
  • Approximate footprint
  • Site access and construction flow
05 Blueprints

Choose a Drafting Partner

You receive options for local blueprinting companies that can draft the ADU plans. The goal is to produce drawings that match the site, scope, and local permitting expectations.

  • Plan drafting
  • Layout refinement
  • Permit-ready drawing package
06 Permitting

Submit for Approval

The blueprint package is submitted to the appropriate county or city office for review. Revisions, clarifications, or corrections are handled as part of the normal permitting process.

  • County or city review
  • Plan corrections if needed
  • Permit approval before building

After Approval

Construction moves from planning into a controlled build schedule.

Once permits are approved, Hammer Falls Construction can set a realistic timeframe, order key materials, coordinate trades, and prepare the site for construction. From there, the project typically moves through site prep, foundation, framing, rough-in work, exterior envelope, interiors, inspections, and final completion.

  • Finalize scope, selections, construction agreement, and scheduling expectations.
  • Prepare the site, coordinate access, and begin approved construction work.
  • Manage required inspections and keep the build moving through each phase.
  • Complete finishes, final review, punch list items, and project handoff.
